Second life

Today my roommate and I were talking about the program second life; she had to do it for class. Anyways, she was explaining that it was like this real world, and people got to pick what they wanted to be as if it was their second life. I know we talked about this during class, but I still don’t understand how people can get so involved with a program like second life. We were saying how some people get so into it that they actually become these people, lose money because they are constantly buying items on it, and ultimately lose sight of the real world. How do people let themselves get lost in a life that isn’t even real?

    Try it…

  2. With Second Life, people are free to be whomever they wanted to be. They can do things that they’ll never do in real life. Check it out!

  3. SL is not more or less addictive than any other MMO. Honestly the hardcore population (and i count myself in there) are the people who get tired of other MMO’s and want something that offers more than repetitive killing quests. What is really going to bake your noodle is the emotional relationships that people build in SL. As binding and as close as RL only with out the touching, mostly. Find someone who will TP you away from the land of the newbs and show you around to the fun spots. You will start to see some of the appeal.
