Com on Baby, Blog My Fire

Posted in Uncategorized with tags on December 3, 2007 by mrpibb

I just recently stumbled upon an old blog from my bff in high school. It’s totally awesome. The entries were about the parties we went to when 15 and 16, the band we used to be in (named after the Lovelace poem, To Althea From Prison, or TAFP). It’s making me get that nostalgic feeling in my gut. I miss my friends from home, I haven’t been very close with them at all. I guess you can’t go back. It makes me wonder on the future of my friendships though, I think myself and friendship have a relatively at the moment convenience kind of relationship. Ho hum, I’m not too worried about it. I mean, there are many moments left in my life, yes? Then many friends, too! I do kinda approve of blogs nowadays. I mean I always have, ever since I was like 12 and got my first freeopendiary and began a little online journal of my own. If only that site didn’t up it’s age to 18, and make you pay to use it.

Oh, phooey.

VPN…Virtually Pissed Novice

Hey, does anyone live off campus? If so, did you do the VPN and home server thing? I just tried, and i downloaded the VPN thing, I installed it, and restarted to get the blue screen of death. So I restarted again, and now internet explorer (the piece of junk) freezes or goes crazy slow. At least I can still use firefox.

Did Rowan’s VPN just kill my desktop?

Mc Cloud Comics

The Mc cloud comics further follow the ideas of the visual rhetoric article, by displaying imagery that questions the deeper relationships of visuals and text. It expresses how the text allows one to reinterpret the image before them. The images we view can merely be a concept or idea, showing some resemblance to reality. It is interesting to have an in depth look at how the human mind can mold an image and allow it to become the textual reference to which we are used too. It further challenges us to look beyond the surface in regards to visual and text definitions .There is an extended identity, which raises beyond the border of our five senses. I never considered how much impact our non- visual awareness plays a part in our everyday lives, as we interact with people and the objects surrounding us. As an artist, I can relate to how cartoon characters and their universes become an extension of one`s self. Audiences relate to cartoon characters, although they may not be a realistic resemblance. They still carry traits ,which offer some reflection to our own identity’s.
